Protesters took
to the streets of Tyler again Wednesday rallying support for bill HR-503.
This bill would outlaw the sale and slaughter of horses for meat and shut down
two slaughterhouses here in Texas.
Mary Beth Petrakian is helping to organize the campaign.
She hopes getting support from East Texas will send a message to U.S.
Representative Louie Gohmert.
"We’ll be back out as often as we can until we hear from Congressman
Gohmert," Petrakian said.
Petrakian and other equine enthusiasts have been protesting since Monday.
They say they will continue to rally until the bill goes to the House floor for
voting.
